2019 Imbalanced Equilibrium, Glorious Jewel Art Center / ShangHai, China
I enjoy continually cutting into a piece of solid wood, letting air and light through, just like the way wind blows through the woods, making leaves susurrate with different sounds, while birds and insects utter in resonance. All life begins, forming a new order in the space that I’ve cut into. Some are sharp and imbalanced, asymmetrical, unsaturated thin forms and lines intersect (somewhat neurotically); to me such new emerging forms are alluring and exhilarating. I love the excitement of improbability as it incessantly stimulates my acuity, such instincts are reflected in my work.
