2013   「 Shiau Jon-Jen ‘s Solo Exhibition」 National Dr.Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall / Taipei, Taiwan

"Following the flow" is the creative attitude of Shiau Jon-Jen . In his creations, he adopts a minimalist approach, using simple combinations and variations of triangles, squares, and circles to interpret the natural landscapes in his mind. Shiau Jon-Jen believes that simple shapes and lines, along with the grain and texture of wood, are the most beautiful. In his works, he excels at sculpting penetrating lines that allow light and vision to pass through, thus extending the space. This concept of "cutting with lines to bring space in" is something he frequently mentions. When displaying multiple pieces, he carefully manages the interplay and spatial sense between the works.

Shiau Jon-Jen emphasizes the absoluteness and existence of "lines." He says, "In an enclosed space, orderly development is essential. For example, with wood, it is essentially a defined enclosed space. Once it is arranged in an orderly manner, the so-called sense of space becomes clearer and more distinct."
